Where it comes from
The lists connect this sign with a corner — graded unclear; the wedges keep their own counsel. What is certain is its range: Akkadian lets it write ib, eb and ep alike, the vowel bending to the word around it — the same easy vowel-blur the school met in IR.
How to remember it
A corner joins two walls; this sign joins vowels. It opens the king’s epšētum, “deeds,” and it will close a coming blessing, liṭīb — “may it be well.” Deeds first, blessing after: a fair order.
