Where it comes from

Luxuriance, flourishing growth — the lists’ association, graded unclear; the shape keeps its counsel. In Old Babylonian documents it earns its rank as the syllable lam, most prominently closing awīlam — “a man” as the object of the deed — in the laws’ opening formula.

How to remember it

Flourish is what the second man in law 1 was doing until the accusation landed on him — the object of the sentence, closed by this sign. In this school’s own story, LAM is also the last box to fall: chapter 06 read law 1 around it, and chapter 07 finally taught it.
