Where it comes from
An owl — the classic identification, and unmistakable: alone among the script’s birds it turns its face to look straight at you, exactly as owls do. It writes the sound m, which makes it the preposition “in, as, with” and half the grammar of any page.
How to remember it
The owl stares out of the wall at you, and you cannot pass a line without meeting it — m is “in,” and the owl is IN everything. Face-on bird, everywhere: that is m.
