Where it comes from

A falcon perched on the carrying-standard — Horus on his pole, as carried in procession. Silent: it classifies gods, kings, and divine names, and in later texts even the pronouns that refer to them. Wherever it perches, divinity is present.

How to remember it

The watcher sits above the word the way the falcon sat above Egypt — not read, just present. If the falcon oversees a name, someone divine is being spoken of; mind your manners in the sentence.
