Where it comes from

An old form of the crow 烏, borrowed whole for the preposition — the stated account. It is the SAME word as 于 in a fuller dress: the oldest songs and annals point with 于at · yú · at, to, toward — the old preposition, the Analects and the philosophers prefer 於in · yú · in, at, on; than — the full locative. How to remember it

The old crow, perched: the pole-shape at the left, two small marks for the folded wings at the right. Wherever the crow lands, there the sentence is — in, at, on.
