Where it comes from

A person leaning against a tree: rest, assembled from two of the course’s first pictures. In the old texts it widens to “respite” and even “good fortune” — the blessing of being let alone. Taught in the master’s chapter.

How to remember it

Noon, shade, a trunk at your back. Person plus tree equals rest — the most honest equation in the script.
