Where it comes from
A forearm whose hand grips a stick — the bare forearm armed. Silent: it classifies strength and forceful action — the arm-family’s strongman, next to the empty palm and the loaf-bearing giver.
How to remember it
Force is an arm plus a lever: the same limb that gives and carries, now holding a stick. Three arms, three tempers — open, giving, armed — and this is the armed one.
