Where it comes from
The sky drawn as the Egyptians built it: a flat slab with its two ends turned down, the ceiling of the world resting on its supports. It writes p,t, “sky, heaven,” and roofs words about what is above.
How to remember it
The sky is a ceiling — Egypt’s cosmos was architecture, and this is its lintel. Everything under discussion happens under this slab; gods walk on top of it.
