Where it comes from

A pool of water seen from above — the rectangular garden basin of an estate. It writes š (“sh”), and as a word š is the pool itself; in the working world it widens to a plot, a worksite — something with edges that one tends.

How to remember it

A pool asks for quiet — sh — and the sign is exactly the calm rectangle you’d hush someone beside. Flat water, flat sound.
