Where it comes from

A workhorse whose picture keeps its secret (unclear) — the lists hand it straight to the ear: one sign for the throat’s breath in all three colors, aḫ, eḫ, uḫ. Akkadian, rich in the ḫ-sound Sumerian barely used, keeps it busy.

How to remember it

A sigh — the same breath whether it rides an a, an e, or a u. One sign, three vowels, one rasp in the throat.
