Where it comes from

A human face, front-on — rare in a script that draws almost everything in profile. It writes ḥr: the noun “face” and the preposition “upon, over, at” — what your face is toward, you are ḥr.

How to remember it

The face looks straight out at you, like the owl — and “upon” is where a face points. Turn your face to a task and you are ḥr it: the preposition is a gaze.
