basket
| Name | V31 |
|---|---|
| Reads | k |
| Means | basket with handle |
| Taught in | 04 · Your first signs |
Where it comes from
A wicker basket with its handle, seen from the side. It writes k, and above all the suffix pronoun ≡k, “you, your” (said to a man) — the basket hanging off the ends of words the way it hung off an arm.
How to remember it
The basket has a handle because it is meant to be YOURS to carry — and ≡k is exactly that: your name, your house, your heart, each with the little basket hooked on. Its mirror twin V31A faces the other way.
